Local organisations urged to apply for energy efficiency and environmental funding grants
A total of £120,000 is available annually across Statkraft's six Greener Grid Park community funds
Community projects and organisations near Statkraft’s Greener Grid Parks in England, Scotland, and Wales, have been urged to apply for the annual round of grants, which are now open for applications.
Statkraft’s six Greener Grid Park Community Benefit Funds provide £20,000 per year, and are specifically focussed on projects that deliver energy efficiency and environmental projects, meaning a total of £120,000 of funding is available. Each fund has its own specific eligibility criteria, but projects must be located in or delivered to benefit nearby communities. Groups can apply for a minimum of £500. Activities that could be considered for grants could include energy efficiency audits of community buildings, educational activities, training for voluntary groups in reducing their own carbon footprints, and EV charging points.

Greener Grid Parks are pioneering projects, which increase the stability of the electricity grid, and allow more renewable energy to be transmitted through the network.
The funds are independently administered through GrantScape, a leading UK community fund administrator, on behalf of Statkraft, with the closing date for 2025’s applications on 23 April 2025.
Applications can be made via the online portal here.
Potential applicants are also welcome to call GrantScape directly on 01908 247630 if they wish to discuss a project or need any help or advice on how to apply.
Alison Hood, Statkraft’s Head of Engagement and Social Value, said: “Projects such as our Greener Grid Parks help achieve a renewables-ready network. But they deliver a wider benefit for locals too. That’s why we established these funds, to ensure that communities benefit from having a Statkraft project in their local area, as part of our commitment to being a good neighbour. I want to encourage community organisations to apply, particularly if they are planning on becoming more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.”
